Biography
I am the former General Secretary International Federation of Journalists (1987-2011). Journalist The Guardian (1980-1987). I have worked as a journalist and media development expert for more than 40 years. I am now focused on leading a global campaign on ethics, good governance and self-regulation for media. The Ethical Journalism Network is a coalition of major media professional groups and media development organisations. I participated in the leadership of the organisation of the WSIS process. I am working as a consultant for major international agencies (UN, UNESCO, Council of Europe, OSCE) on activities and programmes designed to promote ethical standards and good governance in media.
