INTRODUCTION
Coppens is an IT Specialist and SETIC Responsible in Charge of Supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation of National Backbone Network Construction Based on Broadband Infrastructure in Burundi. His is also the First President of BurundiX (IXP for Burundi).
According to him, it is much better to contribute to Internet Governance and its Growth rather than only benefitting from its fruits thanks to IT related Certificate, Masters and PhDs!
This Forum on Internet Governance is a key portal to him in order to become a key player in African Internet Governance.
OBJECTIVES FOR ISTANBUL TURKEY ON 02-05 SEPTEMBER 2014
His main objective is to contribute to Internet Governance commitments mainly in the development of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures and programs that shape the evolution and use of the Internet locally, regionally and internationally.
He wishes to share with others his experience toward the development of a new look of local, regional and international Internet use.
Adding to this, the wish is also to see how or in which environment to involve the Civil Society, individuals, etc.
It may be also an occasion to share the future perspectives of ICT for Information Society, Global Issues towards Information Society and Internet Governance.
