Biography
Pranesh Prakash is Policy Director at the Centre for Internet and Society and works on policy research and advocacy around intersections of technology and law focusing on access to knowledge (primarily copyright reforms), promoting openness(including open government data, open standards, open access, and free/libre/open source software), freedom of expression, and privacy and internet governance.
In 2012, he was nominated as an Internet Freedom Fellow by the United States government, in recognition of his work on promoting freedom of speech and openness on the Internet.
His op-eds and articles have been published in many national newspapers, including the Times of India, and the Indian Express, and his work has been quoted in the New York Times, the Hindu, Washington Post, and numerous other publications.
