The overall attendance with 1480 participants1 from 116 countries, of which 127 were media representatives. From these, 277 came from civil society, 416 from government, 243 from business entities, 142 from intergovernmental organizations, 275 from technical and academic communities . Governments represented 28%, civil society 19% of participants , followed by the technical and academic communities with 18% and the private sector with 17%, and intergovernmental organizations accounting for approximately 10%. Media representatives made up around 8% of participants.

The meeting saw an increase in the number of participants from Africa, representing 32% of the participation (host country representing 18% of the total participation, and other African countries representing 14%). Participants from Western Europe made up approximately 27% of participants and Eastern Europe represented 5%. Asia had 17% of participation, and Oceania (including Australia and New Zealand) made up approximately 2% of participants. The participants from North America made 12% and Latin America and the Caribbean 5% of the total.
