Description

GitHub plans to display previous and existing partnership and research on data governance, open source, responsible artificial intelligence research and human rights. The booth will showcase examples of GitHub data used to answer internet governance policy questions, and ways for digital public goods can be discovered.

1) The booth will provide an opportunity for the community to join partnerships such as the World Bank Development Data Partnership and learn how to use GitHub data for any policy research questions.

The World Bank's Development Data Partnership is a web-based proposal management portal facilitates seamless interactions to support public policy and provision of public infrastructure and services that are dependent on data, and this portal provides higher quality, timely data which translates into more effective sector and program prioritization, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

2) The Digital Public Goods Alliance is a multi-stakeholder initiative with a mission to accelerate the attainment of the sustainable development goals in low- and middle-income countries by facilitating the discovery, development, use of, and investment in digital public goods. Digital public goods are open-source software, open data, open AI models, open standards, and open content that adhere to privacy and other applicable laws and best practices, do no harm by design, and help attain the Sustainable Development Goals. Majority of digital public goods lives on GitHub and the goal of this booth is to encourage more open data and open AI models to be discovered and support the integration of digital public goods within governments.
