Increasing awareness and proactiveness among policymakers and developers: How do we ensure that technology developers, digital corporations, policy makers and policy processes consistently consider the impact of the Internet and digitalisation on sustainability and climate change?
The session is part of the Resilience Frontiers initiative, a foresight initiative which intends to carve out a future which will harness the power of frontier technologies and innovation in the eight Resilience Frontiers pathways, by providing the necessary infrastructure and environment, thereby moving away from the old paradigm to make way for the envisaged resilient future.
In terms of Increasing awareness and proactiveness among policymakers and developers, the initiative identifies levers to influence the pathways towards a desirable sustainable future. This includes policy processes, but also organizations and experts working in the field of frontier technologies.

Description:
The Resilience Frontiers initiative is a foresight initiative which intends to carve out a future which will harness the power of frontier technologies and innovation, by providing the necessary infrastructure and environment, thereby moving away from the old paradigm to make way for the envisaged sustainable and resilient future.
This session seeks to present and validate, together with the stakeholders present at the IGF 2021, the analysis undertaken to this point in the Resilience Frontiers initiative, and its Technology Advisory Group, on how frontier technologies in the four main themes of Infrastructure, data gathering and distribution, data analysis and knowledge formation, bio-engineering and (data) visualization.
The session will be kicked off with impulse presentations and will then be divided into 4 groups along the main themes to allow for targeted input by the stakeholders.
Using the unique expertise of the IGF 2021, participants would validate the emerging outcomes of the Resilience Frontiers initiative and its Technology Advisory group, as relates to frontier technologies.
In the room, the session will be managed by the main moderator and interactivity is ensured through the parallel use of Mentimeter, an audience interaction solution. On-site additional moderators for the breakout group sessions, selected from the stakeholders of the Resilience Frontiers initiative will support the session, online there will be one additional room to discuss all 4 topics. Feedback is also possible via an online form or by requesting a follow up 1-on-1 call.
