Biography

Naveed Ul Haq is an ICT professional, technology activist with major area of work surrounded around telecommunication networks and the Internet. He has a deep interest towards research and development stuff in latest technological changes and convergence of platforms.

He has been working for Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) since ten  years. He holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Computer Sciences with specialization in Data Networks.

He is also engaged and attended a number of International institutes such as Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, Internet Society and Internet Governance Forum.

Naveed has been involved in numerous activities pertaining to industry-wide coordination, consultation and following a multi-stakeholders approach. Some of the major achievements scored in carrying out industry based projects include establishing Internet core peering points, transition of .pk ccTLD, technical implementation regulations for mobile banking in Pakistan and Broadband perception survey for end-users. As a key team member he has also been involved in formulation of various ICT industry groups as well as organizing industry-based conferences / seminars on wide-range of issues.

Apart from his professional strengths, working along with community members on volunteer basis may also be listed as his key potency. Naveed has been able to deliver a number of workshop/ talks to community members on Internet issues while writing a number of articles on blogs / magazines.
